ARE ALL YOUR WORDS AT WORKS HONORING TO GOD ?

Scripture: LET NO UNWHOLESOME WORD PROCEED FROM YOUR MOUTH, BUT ONLY A SUCH WORD AS IS GOOD FOR EDIFICATION ACCORDING TO THE NEED OF THE MOMENT, THAT IT MAY GIVE GRACE TO THOSE WHO HEAR. (Ephesian 4:29)

Today’s thoughts: When you speak to your staff or a colleague, is every word appropriate and gracious, or do people walk away feeling trampled? Here are a few guidelines to make sure that your words always “give grace to those who hear”.

1. First and foremost, be honest. Telling the truth establishes your creditability and makes you a person that other can trust.

Second, speak the truth in love. Be careful not to use judgmental statements or attacking words that may allow you to let off steam but are neither helpful nor appreciated by others.

Make sure that what you say is instructive and helpful.

2. When you must correct an employee, do so gently.

Take on the attitude of a coach, giving guidance and encouragement.

When every word you speak is honest, encouraging, and gently instructive, you will motivate workers to give their best efforts and serve your customers more effectively.

THE TONGUE OF THE WISE MAKES KNOWLEDGE ACCEPTABLE, BUT THE MOUTH OF FOOLS SPOUTS FOLLY

(Proverb 15:2)
