12WHOEVER DERIDES THEIR NEIGHBOR HAS NO SENSE,
BUT THE ONE WHO HAS UNDERSTANDING HOLDS THEIR TONGUE.
13A GOSSIP BETRAYS A CONFIDENCE,
BUT A TRUSTWORTHY PERSON KEEPS A SECRET.
Gossip: Conversations or reports about other people's private lives that might be unkind, disapproving, or not true, scandal: rumor or general talk or writing that is damaging to the reputation of involved people.
As the digital age offers widerspead use of social media, Tiktok, Facebook.
There is also unethical use of it, which has resulted badly of individual privacy and impacted both physical and information security, mentality, reputation, images and someone’s life.
Those are also forms of gossip.
When coworkers speak against the boss, don’t join in. Follow the old adage, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. Not only will it keep you out of trouble, but it is honoring to your boss. If you do say anything, your comments should earn more information, perspectives, and ideas that should be positive, supportive statements that balance a situation.
Cutting down the boss only destroys morals for everyone – ourselves included, the acts go against human ethics. Even the boss is wrong, but we are not hired or paid for speaking against the boss, and when we’ve done so, we are also wrong, then how can we judge others when we are not right at all?
How’s about we did not fully understand situations?
How about we lack information and perspectives?
How’s about our hearts getting the wrong cause?
Then our gossip, attacks driven by those erring thoughts, and attitudes make the workplace take on a negative atmosphere.
If slaves who occupied the lowest state imaginable were commanded to honor their master, then surely, we, as employees, should honor those who supervise us.
If you do have a complaint, sit down with your supervisor and calmly discuss the issue. In this way, you can be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
4TAKE AWAY THE DROSS FROM SILVER,
AND IT WILL GO TO THE SILVERSMITH FOR JEWELRY.
5TAKE AWAY THE WICKED FROM BEFORE THE KING, AND HIS THRONE WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.
(Proverb 25:4-5)
